The transfer steps, start to finish #
1. Wait out the locks. You cannot transfer in a domain’s first 60 days, or within 60 days of a previous transfer.
2. Unlock the domain. Turn off the transfer lock in your current registrar’s dashboard.
3. Get the auth code. Request the EPP or authorization code. Treat it like a password.
4. Handle privacy if it stalls. Some transfers need WHOIS privacy off briefly to read a valid admin email, then you switch it back on.
5. Start the transfer and approve it fast. Pay the fee at the new registrar and approve the confirmation email. It usually finishes in a day or two.
